WWT Slimbridge, Gloucestershire GL2 7BT
Members and guests are invited to the Society’s Spring meeting at Slimbridge. The centre is open from 9:30. There will be a council meeting at 10:30, followed by the AGM in the cinema at 12:45. There will then be time for lunch before a tour of the duckery at 2:15.
Admission prices are available at www.wwt.org.uk. Individual (not group) rates apply, but discounts are available by prebooking online. There is no need to book through the Society or identify yourself as an AS member on arrival, but if you are coming, please could you let Chris Kent know by Sun April 12th so that we know how many to expect for the afternoon tour – Christopher_kent@live.co.uk.
In the collection area, look out for the Tropical House, and the new observatory giving close views of the 350-strong flock of Greater Flamingos. From the hides, expect to see breeding Cranes and Avocets among other species, or you may like to try the canoe trail (lifejackets provided!).
